Cuba the first country to put an end to mother to child HIV transmission
The World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday (30/6) announced, Cuba as the first country in the world to eliminate the transmission of HIV and syphilis from mother to child.
The WHO said in a statement, the international delegates sent to Cuba by him and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in March to determine the State of such assignment meets the criteria.
In 2013, only two children in Cuba who was born with HIV and five children with syphilis, the statement said, as reported by Reuters from the page.
"Cuba's Success shows, universal access and universal health coverage is feasible, and indeed is the key to success. In fact, such a daunting challenge against HIV, "said PAHO Director, Carissa Etienne, in the statement.
Cuba's Communist Government considers free health applied to them is the great achievements of the revolution in 1959.
